The Technology
Warning Principle
Current scientific knowledge cannot predict earthquakes. However, a seismic detection system can provide warning before destructive waves arrive, giving time to execute emergency procedures practiced in advance. The warning time is achieved by exploiting the time difference between the arrival of P-waves (primary pressure waves) and S-waves (shear waves).
Sensor Network
Beeper has deployed a sensor network along the Dead Sea Transform fault. Sensors are connected to the earthquake server via secure IP communication. The network identifies earthquakes at their point of origin, giving units in population centers double or more warning time.
HS-301 Sensor
The sensor was developed by Japanese company A2 in collaboration with Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED). In Japan — one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries — the system has been in daily operational use since 2007, alerting to hundreds of earthquakes. The sensor was calibrated to match Israel's expected seismic parameters.

Beeper SeismoGuard was founded in 2022, following the acquisition of the earthquake warning operations from Beeper Communications, a business that has existed since 2010. The company preserved the original knowledge and personnel and continues to operate the systems, develop new technologies, and lead Israel and additional countries in early earthquake warning.
Beeper also established the civilian earthquake warning system in Mexico, which was adopted by the state, and continues to support and provide technologies to Mexico in the field.
Our systems are developed by the leading company in the field in Japan, whose warning systems are the most widespread in the world — with over 15,000 units sold in Japan, China, Israel, Mexico and India, according to the manufacturer.
